6.7L Cummins Aftermarket Turbo Options
Posted on 18 April 2015
The factory Holset turbo provides quick spool and exhaust brake functions on 07.5-2015 6.7L Cummins trucks. However, with higher mileage or increased power, the weak points of the Holset are quickly found. Street Diesel Power offers a variety of turbocharger upgrades to meet different needs.
The ATS 7500 Compound kit provides exceptional airflow across the rpm range - and retains the exhaust brake. For towing, daily driving and power levels up to 650hp, this kit provides dramatic EGT control and power. For power over 650hp, the ATS external wastegate kit allows the user to limit how much boost the stock VGT makes. This is used to protect the turbo from overspinning.
For single turbo upgrades, the Aurora 4000 kit replicates factory spool characteristics and can support up to 650hp. The exhaust brake function is lost when replacing the turbo. This kit comes with the manifold, exhaust elbow, Aurora 4000 and gaskets and hardware.
The Aurora 5000 can be run on a 6.7L Cummins from 500-800hp levels. This turbo features a 71mm billet compressor wheel, T4 housing and choices for .90, 1.00 and 1.10 AR housings. It requires a T4 exhaust manifold (2 or 3 piece) for install. A tune, lift pump and head studs will make this turbo spool quick (just a tad slower than the 4000 or VGT), but have tremendous air flow from 1700 RPM's on up.
All ATS turbos are covered by a 3 year / 150,000 mile warranty.
